So you want to manifest more money into your life.
And you’d like to see if it can be done using the law of attraction because, well, you’ve tried everything else and it kinda feels like you’re banging your head against a brick wall.
I get it. I’ve been there, and I have good news. You actually can attract more money into your life and all it takes is a shift in mindset.
I wrote this guide to help you.
However, I’ve got to say that this isn’t a ‘how to become a millionaire using the law of attraction’ or ‘how to manifest £10,000 in 10 days’ type of article. Both are possible I’m sure, but this is more about making permanent, positive changes in your life to release money blocks and open yourself up to a consistent flow of more money in your life.
What this guide will cover:
Identifying and healing your ‘money story’
Removing emotional attachment to money
Forming a money mindset
Watching your money language
Best money affirmations
Aligning with money and taking action

Identifying and healing your money story
Take a moment to actually stop and think about how you feel about money.
Do you even like money?
Or do you think that it’s the root of all evil?
Because if you don’t like money and think it’s the root of all evil, then you’re not going to be able to attract money into your life.
You need to be a vibrational match to the things that you want to attract into your life. Which means you need to love money if you want to increase the amount of it in your purse.
Does that make you uncomfortable?
Often, we don’t form our first thoughts and beliefs about money. They are a result of the environment that we’re born into, and the repeated statements we hear about it from people around us.
Sometimes, those statements are actually limiting beliefs that we end up taking on as our own. Then we recite them until they become our ‘money stories’.
For example, I grew up hearing a lot of ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’ and ‘We can’t afford that’. I’d been taught to see money as a limited resource from repeatedly hearing those statements, which in turn made me feel uncomfortable about the idea of learning to love money.
I kind of felt…almost ashamed for loving money and wanting to make more of it – like that would make me a dirty, materialistic person.
But now I think – what’s wrong with loving money? It makes the world go round. It helps people. It gives people a reason to wake up in the morning. It sparks incredible ideas – from the planes we fly around the world on, the cars we drive, to the device you’re reading this from right now.
There are so many great things about money that we forget as all the bad stuff overshadows them. We forget that money in the right hands can be an amazing thing.
The love for money doesn’t have to always be about materialism.
What about appreciating the incredible things that money has done for this world?
Now think about this – what’s your money story? Examples include beliefs like:
- I am terrible with money (one of my old ones)
- I’m always broke
- I think rich people are selfish and greedy
What did you hear a lot about money when you were growing up?
Do you think that money is hard to come by? That’s a common one.
But if you do, that’s going to create a lot of resistance.
When you get used to seeing money as energy that moves and flows – an unlimited resource, you’ll have better luck manifesting it into your life.
Creating a money mindset
In order to change your money story, you have to completely change the way you think about money.
This is removing years of other people’s limiting beliefs and expectations about money that you took on before you knew better.
This is changing the way you speak about money, changing the way you interact with it.
And the first step is:
Appreciating money in all its forms
Even in the form of BILLS.
When I receive bills, I am grateful for the service I am paying for. For example, when my phone bill comes every month – instead of feeling annoyed at how much of a rip off it is, I say thank you because I love my phone.
I will even go as far as to say that we should appreciate the fact that we even have bills to pay. Because if we have bills, that means we can afford services. That’s a luxury when there are people in this world who live on the street.
Don’t get me wrong – I know we’re only human and there are times when we will get frustrated, especially if it feels like the bills are piling up and getting more expensive.
But I believe that the law of attraction, like everything in life, is about what you do consistently, most of the time. So, forgive yourself if you have a moment once in a while.
You’re entitled to that moment. Once you’ve had it, you shake it off and it’s back to business.
Start acknowledging and appreciating the money that’s already in your life.
No matter how little money you think you have, it’s all around you. Even if it’s not in your bank account. Don’t think of money as just cash – the holidays you take, the car you drive – that’s all money in form. Abundance.
The clothes in your wardrobe, the shoes on your feet – everything around you that you’ve bought or even received as a gift is abundance. So throw all that on your list.
Love and appreciate money for all the comforts it brings you. It’s so easy to take the things we use every day for granted. These lists allow us to stop and be thankful for everything we have.
Changing your money language
Eliminate phrases like this from your conversations:
- I can’t afford that
- There’s too much month at the end of the money (although that one does crack me up!!!)
- I am broke
- I never have any money
Why? Because they all focus on lack. And what you focus on is what you attract.
You have to make a conscious effort to avoid saying these things because they are powerful statements about your life and your money situation.
Even if ‘I never have any money’ appears to be your reality right now, the first step to changing that is by not reaffirming it using these statements and attracting more.
Every time you go to say ‘I never have any money’, think back to your gratitude list, or think about the abundance that is in your home. Look down at the clothes you’re wearing. Think about what you have.
Any action that is taken from a place of lack is always counterproductive, and it always leads to more of a feeling of lack. Money, and the Law of Attraction – Esther and Jerry Hicks
Affirmations are a really good way to reprogram your mind and shift those limiting beliefs you may be holding about money. Not all affirmations are helpful – in this article we explored how using affirmations that are untruthful can be counterproductive.
But the following money affirmations are useful because you can speak them from a place of truth. Pick one to focus on each month and speak it, write it and think it daily.

Removing emotional attachment to money
I manifested £3,000 once. I told the full story in this article, so I’m not going to go into too much detail here – but here’s the main juice, with everything I think contributed to my success in bold:
I had just discovered the law of attraction, and it was an experiment more than anything else. It was a bit of fun, I didn’t necessarily need the money, but I figured there were plenty of things I could do with it so why not try to manifest it?
I wrote ‘Thank you for £3,000!’ in one of my notebooks and that was pretty much all I did. At the time, I was feeling super inspired and positive from everything I’d recently learnt about the law of attraction and I was very excited about the prospect of this actually working.
And then life went on and I kind of forgot about it.
A few weeks later, I remembered that I’d started an application for a grant that I’d never finished. I decided to email the lady I had been corresponding with about it. It had been over a year since the last email she sent me – I hadn’t replied.
Anything could have happened since then. She could have left the job, the application could have expired, she may not have remembered me…but I didn’t think about any of that stuff. I just took a chance and hit ‘reply’ anyway.
I responded to the email asking if I could submit my application and went about my day.
She replied a few hours later saying I could, so I did.
And just under a week later the grant was in my bank account. A teeny bit over £3,000.
Believe it or not, I STILL hadn’t remembered what I wrote down on that piece of paper yet.
Nope. I only realised I manifested this when I found that notebook months later.
I’ve manifested a ton of money and abundance since, but not in a big lump sum like that. Here’s why I think that one time was successful:
The law of attraction was all new to me
I was experimenting. It was fun and light-hearted. I had no idea what I was doing.
This is not to say that once you’re established with the law of attraction, you can’t manifest in this way – you absolutely can.
But when you actually know what you’re doing, it takes more focus. You have limiting beliefs you have to deal with. You have to consciously keep your vibration high.
Learning to stay in that phase of excitement and experimentation when you’re established with the law of attraction is key.
There was no emotional attachment
I was coming from a place of excitement and hopefulness. There was no ‘need’ attached to my manifesting.
I wasn’t going to be upset if it didn’t arrive. Because I wasn’t waiting for it to arrive.
I was chill.
I realise now that my intuition led me to send that email, and my mind was clear enough to receive that because I wasn’t worrying or stressing about it.
Just yesterday, I was speaking to a friend of mine who told me about someone she knew that had a breakdown because of how stressed out they were about money.
They have kids to provide for, working a job that they hate and constant pressure from family and friends so it just all got too much for that person. Also, they have a lot of pride. This is someone who feels they have a reputation to uphold, as a provider for their family.
The thing is, if you let money become a source of stress, you create resistance to receiving more money, which creates more stress – it’s a vicious cycle.
When you need money, it is a powerful feeling within you, and so of course through law of attraction, you will continue to attract needing money. – The Secret – Rhonda Byrne
It’s comforting to think of money as energy. It’s always flowing – from business to business, from hand to hand, and it always comes back to you.
Also, the more people strive to make more money, the more opportunities we create for ourselves and others. Look at the number of businesses and entrepreneurs there are in the world now!
The flow of money is always increasing, thanks to the information age. The internet gives us the freedom to start a business in minutes.
Inspiration is spreading like wildfire.
When your eyes are open, you can receive that inspiration too.
People are speeding up, not slowing down.
And I can assure you – money isn’t going to run out.
I would have advised the person my friend told me about to take their focus off the lack of money they have, which is what was causing the stress, and focus on appreciating what they do have.
Also, I would have advised them to remove the emotional attachment they had to money and think of it as energy and nothing more.
The pride that person has, and the pressure they put on themselves to provide with money, is the main source of the stress. I would have reminded that person that the amount of money in their pocket doesn’t put a value on who they are as a person, and there are other ways that they can provide for their family.
I saw a great quote on Pinterest the other day – and I am SO ANNOYED that I didn’t pin it because I can’t remember the exact words – but it went a little something like:
‘When you die, your gravestone isn’t going to read “Here lies Sally who had all the amazing shoes and clothes.”’
And it’s so true. Having things is great, who doesn’t want more stuff.
But people aren’t going to remember you for all the things and stuff you had.
There have been so many great minds who had hardly any things and stuff and still left a great impact on the world.
We’ve got to remember what’s important in this life.
I think that social media contributes to the mounting pressure we feel to have these perfect, Instagrammable lives.
We forget that an IG feed is only the highlight reel of people’s lives – what they want us to see.
We forget that more often than not, the fancy cars and wads of cash that people flaunt are just an illusion.
Remove the emotional attachment to money because it isn’t worth it. It isn’t healthy. It makes us want the money for the wrong reasons. It creates resistance.
Aligning with money
To start attracting more money into your life, you need to align vibrationally with money.
Any negative feelings that arise when you think about money indicate that you are not yet a vibrational match to receiving more of it.
The negative emotion that you feel as you acknowledge that you cant afford something that you want is one way of understanding the balance of your thoughts, and the amount of abundance that you are actually experiencing is another way of knowing. – Money, and the Law of Attraction – Esther and Jerry Hicks
There are lots of different ways you can align with money and raise your vibration. Many suggestions I hear are visualisation techniques.
Over on The Secret website, you can download a cheque, which you fill out with the amount you want to receive and visualise that money being on its way to you every time you look at it.
I’ve tried stuff like this and although visualisation works for a lot of people, it doesn’t really work for me.
My favourite way to raise my vibration is by taking some sort of inspired action.
That’s what gets me excited. Knowing I’ve physically done something and what I want is on its way as a result of that.
Inspired money actions
Clear out your purse/wallet
Everything is energy, including money. Remember how we spoke about clutter and how it blocks the movement and flow of energy? Well, that translates to your purse too. If it’s filled with old receipts, chewing gum wrappers, expired gift cards and general crap, that’s not a very inviting place for fresh money energy to flow. Clear out your whole purse – make it a monthly ritual even?! It’s kind of fun?! Or is that just me 🙂
Take control of your finances
These days, I am mindful of how I spend my money.
But I used to be a very impulsive spender.
As a result, I would never check my bank account unless I had to. I was scared of what I’d see. Because all too often, I’d check it and see a number that I didn’t like after a big spending binge.
I was trying to run away from that feeling, avoiding it. Little did I know, that fear of facing up to the reality of what I’d spent was manifesting more money situations to be fearful of.
Start checking your account regularly and make a note of everything – your outgoings, your incomings, debts you’re paying off, everything.
Get familiar with the dates that money comes out and the dates that it goes in. Make a point of knowing everything that happens with your bank account. It may not feel good when you start, but once you’re done you’ll feel empowered.
Because it’s taking control of your finances and looking them dead in the eye instead of running away from them. You’re the boss now – your money doesn’t control you.
YOU control your money.
Give your money a purpose
Don’t just think about how much you want the money. Think about why you want it.
Get serious and write down the exact amount of money you want (something realistic and believable to start with or there will be limiting beliefs GALORE) and then write everything you plan to spend it on.
Giving the money a purpose prepares your mind to receive it. And don’t forget to say thanks as if it is already yours, because once you’ve decided you want it, it is yours.
Knowledge is power
Finally, one of my favourite ways to get inspired is to read. You never know what could spark an idea. Here are some books about money I highly recommend. Not all of them are law of attraction or thought-based, but all of them completely changed my view on money and its role in my life, which changed my life.
Money – Rob Moore
Not law of attraction based, but he repeatedly acknowledges gratitude and a positive mindset as hugely important factors when it comes to money and success. This book is inspiring and SO interesting. He covers EVERYTHING there is to know about money and how to make it. I particularly recommend the audiobook version, which I’ve linked to.
Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill
A classic. This was one of the first books that helped me to understand that financial success starts in the mind.
The Magic – Rhonda Bryne
This book changed my life in SO MANY different ways. I got it 5 years ago, read it once or maybe twice, and still remember and apply the teachings to my life on a daily basis. AMAZING. It was my first proper introduction to gratitude, something my life was lacking a LOT. And this book taught me how to appreciate EVERYTHING about money – even bills.
Rich Dad Poor Dad – Robert T. Kiyosaki
Not a LOA related book but another book about money that transformed my way of thinking about finances. This book gave me the courage to start a business and gave me the drive and motivation to find ways to make money work for ME, rather than spend my whole life working for money. A hugely valuable book.
Money, and the Law of Attraction – Esther and Jerry Hicks
I struggled to get my head around Abraham Hicks for a long time. To be honest, their teachings didn’t begin to resonate with me until about year ago. They have many great books with solid, actionable teachings – this one, in particular, is great and sooo easy to read (usually I find their books a little complex).
Congratulations! You’ve made it to the end of the guide. I know it was long, so I thank you for sticking with me and I truly hope you enjoyed it.
